Club Rules and Regulations

Dress Code

Normal Dress Code

This applies in The Cowdray Room from Mon 10am to Fri 4.30pm and the Dining Room for Lunch and Dinner from and including Monday lunchtime to Friday lunchtime.

Relaxed Dress Code

This applies at all other times in all Rooms in the Club, including the Dining Room for breakfast every day.

Exception: As may be prescribed and promulgated by the Board of Trustees.

Normal dress is interpreted as a suit or jacket with smart trousers (not Jeans), a collared shirt with tie and appropriate footwear. Normal Dress excludes all sporting wear, including track suits, trainers, sneakers, jeans and other overly casual clothes.

Relaxed dress is defined as Normal Dress but with or without a jacket and/or tie and includes jeans (without rips and tears), clean trainers and sneakers. The Service equivalent is No 2 Working Dress.

Summer Dress (1st May to 30th September, inclusive) allows Members and their guests to remove their jackets throughout the Club.

Public Holidays. Relaxed Dress Code will apply from 4.30pm the day before a Public Holiday until 10.00am on the day following the Public Holiday.

Ladies (Members and Guests) should dress in accordance with the above Rules

Members responsible for children and young persons on the premises should ensure that the above directions on formal and relaxed dress are interpreted sensibly and with due consideration to other Members.

The above rules do not apply to Members who wish to gain access to their rooms without using any of the public rooms.

The Running Horse Tavern is a Relaxed Dress area at all times.

Public Rooms

Items of outer clothing, shopping bags, umbrellas, radios, mobile telephones and audio/visual recording/playback equipment are not to be taken into any public rooms.

With the exception of the Study, working papers and brief cases are not permitted in other public areas.

Children in the RAF Club

Children are welcome in the Club at all times providing that:

- Members and their guests personally supervise their children at all times.

- The comfort and tranquility of other Members are respected.

- Licensing regulations are complied with in respect of alcohol and young persons.

Baby-sitting, high chairs and cots are available and may be booked at the time of the room reservation.

Children's activity packs are provided free for children under 12. Please let us know your child's name and age when making a Bedroom Booking Request.
