Congestion Charges in Central London

On 20 October 2010, the Mayor announced his decision to remove the Western Extension of the Congestion Charging zone and to introduce a number of other changes to the remaining scheme, which took effect on 4 January 2011. The location of the Club however is still within the congestion charging zone, as shown on the map below. This should be noted especially when arranging to drop off luggage at the Club. There is a RAF Club Parking Map and details of the car parks near the Club on the Parking page.

Drivers of vehicles with more than two wheels entering the zone are required to pay £10 per day if they wish to continue driving in central London during the scheme's hours of operation, which is between 7am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

The Congestion Charging Zone is clearly defined by signs and / or road markings at entrance and exit points. Cameras have been installed within the zone to identify vehicle number plates.

Payment should be made before 10pm to avoid a surcharge, and before midnight at the latest if you want to avoid a penalty charge notice. It is possible to pay in advance for a week, a month, or even a year, and there will also be a "fast track purchase card" available.

The scheme is detailed fully on the official website, www.cclondon.com.
