The Club & Contacts

Frequently Asked Questions

I am a retired officer and I would like to join the Club, but I have lost contact with my old colleagues so I cannot find sponsors for my application…

Under Club rules, each candidate for election must have a proposer and seconder both of whom are members of the Club of two years' standing and although you may not know anybody currently who can act as your proposer and seconder for you we are very happy to assist by looking into our records and checking to see if any of the people that you knew previously are members. As we have 18,500 members I hope that you will be able to find somebody in this way. Although we are not allowed to give out member's addresses we are happy to forward letters on which are sent to the member care of the Club and it can become a good way to be reacquainted with old colleagues.

If this is of no assistance to you there is the possibility of an interview by a member of the Committee in the Club in lieu of a proposer and seconder.
