Clubs in Sydney and Canberra
Group Captain and Mrs Terrett visited the RAC in Sydney and the Commonwealth Club in Canberra from January to March.
My wheelchair-bound wife and I visited both Clubs during our stay in Australia January to March and were greeted with kindness and consideration at each.
The RACA has an indoor car park just off Circular Quay which is very convenient for the Opera House and City. Advance booking is necessary and payment is by the hour. The lifts are a little tight for a wheelchair but accessible.
The Club is a quiet haven amid the noise and bustle of Sydney with an interesting and varied lunch menu. In Canberra, The Commonwealth Club is well known to members of the British High Commission which is close by.
Again access is excellent although the dress code is stricter than the RACA Club. It has a pleasant restaurant with good views over the Canberra CBD.
