Flight Lieutenant and Mrs Jones were able to send us this report following their visit to Australia
The final week of our holiday was spent in Sydney and we were very pleased to be able to book into The Royal Automobile Club of Australia, located on Macquarie Street.
This Club is beautifully situated with the lift going right down to the club garage which has direct access onto Circular Quay. The Quay area is the main transport hub of the City with ferries, buses and trains going in all directions. It is also the best place to have a coffee, snack or meal and watch the world go by.
In the Club we had a wonderful, large room overlooking the harbour bridge and were able to sleep through the noise of the nearby expressway and the toots of ferries and trains.
The Club is an elegant building dating back to the beginning of the last century and offers extensive facilities. Again we found the staff most kind and helpful and our stay was a real pleasure.
