Dress Code

Cowdray Lounge and Dining Room: Formal Dress applies from 10:00 onwards, ties are optional until 18:30.
Informal dress applies for breakfast, on Friday evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

All other Club areas: Informal Dress

Formal dress is suit or jacket with shirt, tie (optional until 18:30), smart trousers and appropriate footwear.

Informal dress is smart casual, which includes tailored jeans but excludes shorts, torn jeans, sandals, sports vests and similar overly casual attire.

Public Rooms

Items of outer clothing, shopping bags, umbrellas, radios, audio/visual recording/playback equipment and laptops are not to be taken into any public rooms.

Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs) & Mobile Telephones.

For the purpose of this Rule, Portable Electronic Devices including mobile telephones are defined as a device with a screen but no permanently attached keyboard (e.g. an Apple iPad, Samsung Tablet, Kindle, iPhone, etc) up to a maximum size of approximately 11 inches.

Save as provided in the following provision of this Rule, mobile telephones and all other PEDs may be read in all areas of the Club premises in silent mode.

Children in the RAF Club

Children are welcome in the Club at all times providing that:

  • Members and their guests personally supervise their children at all times.
  • The comfort and tranquillity of other Members are respected.

  • Licensing regulations are complied with in respect of alcohol and young persons

Baby-sitting, high chairs and cots are available and may be booked at the time of the room reservation. We have 3 family rooms (a double bedded room with an adjoining room with bunk beds). 

Children's activity packs are provided free for children under 12. Please let us know your child's name and age when making a Bedroom Booking Request

Lost Property

The Club is unable to accept liability for the property of any Member or guest which may be lost on the premises.
The Club will endeavour to return lost property to Members whenever possible, with P&P charged for any items returned by post.
If you find any lost property whilst on the premises please hand it to a member of staff at the Front Desk, where the item will be logged.
Lost property will be kept for the reminder of the month in which the property was logged, plus a further 2 months.
Food and drink items will be kept for one day only.
Items that remain unclaimed after the required period of time has passed, may be returned to the person who found the item or else will be disposed of.

In the interests of Security, Members and their guests are reminded not to leave parcels or baggage unattended at any time in the public areas of the Club

Personal Items

The Club us unable to accept responsibility for Members’ and guests' personal belongings and valuables unless they are placed in the safe at Reception. Lockers may also be rented on an annual basis by Members wishing to secure their belongings. Laptop size safe are also available to rent from the Hall Porter. If you find any lost property whilst on the premises please hand it in at the Front Desk, where this will be logged.

Long Term Luggage Storage

Members of the Club are able to leave luggage on a long term basis (more than one week) with the Hall Porters at reception.
A member can leave up to three pieces of luggage for a period of 1 week free of charge, after this period a charge of £2 per day will apply.
This charge will apply on collection of the luggage.
