INTRODUCING THE ROYAL AIR FORCE CLUB 'AT YOUR EASE' (AYE) PROGRAMME

The Club is now welcoming back members and guests with limited accommodation and dining on offer and a relaxed dress code in place for July and August. We have developed an At Your Ease (AYE) programme that has introduced an even higher standard of cleanliness and disinfection at the Club, to ensure members, their guests and staff enjoy an even cleaner and safer stay each and every time they visit the Club.

To ensure adequate social distancing, the number of members and guests permitted will be limited in each area, with a maximum number of bedrooms occupied at any one time

We have evaluated every step of the member journey to assess how we can keep you as safe as possible, whilst still ensuring the exceptional RAF Club ‘Home from Home’ experience. The short Health & Safety video below demonstrates some of the new protocols introduced, with further information about your stay and what to expect from your visit to the Club in the tabs below.

The programme will also see the introduction of other measures across all areas of the Club to keep everyone safe and has been developed with industry professionals, building upon the Club’s already high standard of housekeeping and hygiene, with hospital-grade cleaning products, training and upgraded protocols currently in use.

Please note, the Club is following all current government advice including social distancing for members, guests and staff. All processes and safety measures will be under regular review, and this guide may be subject to change, as and when government advice changes.

* Relaxed dress code as follows for July and August: Informal Dress:

Polo shirts and smart trousers including untorn jeans and trainers are permitted.

Sandals, rubberized flip-flops, shorts, T-shirts, sports attire or overtly branded attire are not permitted.

Ladies Dress Code

Please use the above as a guide, avoiding extremes and overly revealing forms of dress. Smart sandals and T-shirt style tops are permitted.

The ‘At Your Ease’ Programme: Cleaning & Hygiene Protocols

 

  • Reinforced cleaning protocols in all public areas and bedrooms with frequent disinfection of high touch areas including light switches, door handles, remote controls and telephones
     
  • Increased cleaning frequency of all areas with cleaning checklist and schedule along with the use of hospital-grade disinfectant combined with an electrostatic sprayer
     
  • Hand gel sanitising stations provided in key public areas (front desk, lifts, fitness centre, business suite and all food & beverage areas) Wipes provided on request
     
  • Removal of paper amenities (pads and guest directories) and removal of reusable amenities and toiletries in rooms
     
  • Enhanced team member safety and wellbeing with personal protective equipment and enhanced training and protocols
     
  • Social distancing enforced in all common areas as per government guidelines
     
  • Installation of Perspex sneeze guards at reception and in the Business Suite and Dining Room reception to offer further protection for you and the team.
     
  • We have purchased non-contact infra-red thermometers to check the temperatures of staff and members, especially those who feel they may be experiencing Covid-19 symptoms
     
  • RAF Club staff are completing ongoing mandatory online Covid-19 training, with those in operational roles undertaking practical on the job training

 

Before Visiting the Club
  • We recommend before planning your visit or booking your stay at the Club that you read through the ‘At Your Ease’ programme contained in these pages to ensure you are aware of all the actions we have in place to keep you safe during your stay and minimise the risk of Covid-19 spreading. 
     
  • Please note to enforce social distancing, the numbers of members and guests permitted will be limited in each area, with a maximum number of bedrooms to be occupied at any one time.

The Euro Car Parks Mayfair Car Park on Park Lane is 5 minutes' walk from the Club for ultimate convenience and outside the Congestion charge zone.

Arrival & Check-In/Check-Out
  • We politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ that you do not enter the Club.Any members or guests displaying Covid-19 symptoms may be asked to leave the Club for the safety of other members, guests and staff.
     
  • Our check-in process has been streamlined to allow for a faster and reduced-contact experience. Please also note that we will only be accepting debit and credit cards for the foreseeable future, to avoid the handling of cash.
     
  • Installation of Perspex sneeze guards to the reception desk, so we can all safely keep our distance.
     
  • Clear signage on arrival and throughout detailing the guidelines we have in place to protect you and the team.
     
  • The Club Cloakrooms are available with additional spacing between individual coat hanging areas.
     
  • Hand gel sanitising stations are in place in reception and public areas for you to use. We politely request all members and guests use these when entering the Club and at regular intervals.
     
  • Express check-out is encouraged for all members and guests. A printed room bill will be placed under your door early on the morning of check-out.
     
  • We will automatically take payment for your stay using the debit or credit card details we hold on file. Cash is not being taken at this time.
     
  • You may request a final bill to be emailed to you at reception.

 

Accommodation

 

  • Every bedroom and en-suite will be fully sanitised before each stay
     
  • Our housekeeping team undergoes strict sanitisation prior to starting work and will wear the appropriate PPE during cleaning.
     
  • Rooms will be cleaned and serviced on request only. Should you wish housekeeping to enter and clean your room during your stay, please advise the reception team at check-in.
     
  • Paper amenities (pads and guest directories) and reusable toiletries in rooms have been removed. All guests are asked to bring their own toiletries at this time.
  • Slippers are available, with bath robes on request only.
     
  • Disposable masks will be available in every room.
     
  • Fabric items such as mattresses, pillows, cushions, carpet, chairs and other furniture are sprayed with an approved sanitising solution, which is effective in killing Covid-19
     
  • Linens, towels and robes are washed by our in house laundry at a high temperature, with added sanitisation.
     
  • Any lost property will be stored for 72 hours and disinfected before being returned.
During Your Visit/Stay

 

  • When walking through the Club we ask you please use discretion and consideration by social distancing around other members, guests and staff.
     
  • Use of the lifts - signage has been put in place with guidance on usage of the lifts. You are welcome to use the lifts and we will ensure they are regularly sanitised.  We ask that they are only occupied by two people at a time, or a family group. If you are able to use the stairs, to avoid potential queues, please do so.
     
  • The Business Suite is open for member use, with additional cleaning, spacing between work station areas and gel and wipes available. Members must bring their own laptop as shared PCs and macs have also been removed along with stationery, pens and other shared items.

 

Dining at the Club
  • Breakfast - we will be offering an à la carte breakfast only during your stay, buffets will no longer be available anywhere in the Club until further notice. A take away breakfast is also available if you prefer
     
  • An informal ‘All Day’ menu will be available in either the Cowdray Lounge or Presidents’ Room initially with social distancing in place. Bookings for this ‘All Day’ menu can be made either online www.rafclub.org.uk/book-a-table select 'Cowdray Lounge' or via email dining@rafclub.org.uk
     
  • All bookings must be made in advance with member name, membership number, number of diners, contact telephone and email address supplied
  • The Dining Room will reopen from Wednesday 15th July, online bookings can be made here. Full Afternoon Tea is not available until further notice.
     
  • Other areas of the Club e.g. Library, conference & banqueting spaces, may be utilised to accommodate members should there be the necessity to do so. Menus or menu choices may be restricted to cater to a reduced number of diners.
     
  • For those that prefer, a limited Room Service option is now available to allow members to dine in their own room.
     
  • New ‘Packed Lunch to Go’ option introduced (including) vegetarian option for members and guests who wish to eat outdoors and take advantage of good weather in Green Park opposite. Please enquire at reception.
     
  • To maintain social distancing, we will not be serving drinks at the Cowdray Lounge bar, table service only at this time. Staff will also practice a ‘reduced contact’ service style to minimise any potential risk.
     
  • Cutlery, napkins and condiments will be brought to the table, with tables cleaned between use.
     
  • We will only be accepting credit and debit cards at this time.
     
  • Food and beverage service may be adjusted in accordance with current food safety recommendations and is subject to change.

  • To ensure adequate social distancing, all enquiries will be considered based on the number of guests, any menu or catering requirements and room configuration. Bookings will only be accepted if we can safely accommodate your function or event.

  • Staff will also practice a ‘reduced contact’ service style to minimise any potential risk.
     
  • Cutlery, napkins and condiments will be brought to the table, with tables cleaned between use.

 

Our People: Keeping the Club Team Safe

 

  • RAF Club staff are completing ongoing mandatory online Covid-19 training, with those in operational roles undertaking practical on the job training
     
  • All staff will be temperature checked upon arrival for work, and will be required to self-certify that they have not been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 symptoms.
     
  • Any staff member who shows symptoms will be immediately sent home and will be required to self-isolate for 14 days prior to returning to work.
     
  • Internal regulations have been introduced that require our staff to wear the appropriate PPE during their shifts and to wash their hands frequently.
     
  • To reduce the risk of infection spread, we have introduced the following measures:
     
  • Staggered arrival, departure and break times at the Club, rotating groups of employees, for example via a shift system or short-time working with "fixed teams or partnering" so each person works within a small group.
     
  • Hand sanitising stations are located at all entry and exit points back of house for the teams.
     
  • Staff uniforms all laundered in house to avoid contamination
     
  • All kitchen teams and back of house staff will work adhering to social distancing guidance on and off duty.
     
  • Covid-19 operating procedures are clearly displayed throughout back of house areas.

 

INTRODUCING THE NEW ALL DAY DINING MENU

One of things members have told us they have missed the most this past few months, is the wonderful Club dining. We are delighted to announce the Cowdray Lounge is now open and offering light summer bites, all we ask is that you book in advance here. 

The Dining Room has now also reopened, offering brekfast, lunch and dinner until 2000hrs daily, with a new summer Club menu on offer.

25% Discount on Member Car Parking

Welcome back to Mayfair with 25% member car parking discount available from our local car park, Euro Car Parks. Once parked, members must visit the manned kiosk before leaving the car park, and pay in full for their stay. The 25% member discount will be applied at this stage. 

Located on Park Lane, only a 5 minute walk to the Club, and outside of the Congestion Charge Zone, this option offers the ultimate convenience for those driving to central London.
