Dress Code & Club Rules

Members and guests are politely requested to adhere to the Club’s Rules & Dress Code when visiting the Club.

Informal Dress Code:
From 0630hrs to 1800hrs weekdays, Friday evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Permitted:
Polo shirts, smart trousers, smart tailored shorts, untorn jeans and trainers.

Not permitted:
Rubberized flip-flops, t shirts, sports attire, hooded tops or overtly branded attire.

Ladies Dress Code:
Please use the above as a guide. Smart sandals and t-shirt style tops are permitted.

Children
16yrs and older – the above adult rules apply
Under 16 – Parents/Guardians are responsible for ensuring that their children are dressed appropriately.

Formal Dress Code:
From 1800hrs Monday to Thursday (from 1st May to 31st August jackets may be removed)

Permitted:
Suit or jacket with smart trousers, collared shirt, tie & appropriate footwear

Not permitted:
Jeans and Trainers

Cowdray Lounge & Dining Room
Informal dress: 0630hrs to 1800hrs weekdays, Friday evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Formal Dress applies from 1800hrs Monday to Thursday

All other Club Areas - Informal Dress at all times

Private Functions & Events
Members and non-members of the Club attending a private event with no specified dress code, may wear Informal Dress when using the Club’s conference and banqueting facilities.

Running Horse (outside opening hours): Laptops, tablets and mobile phones on silent mode. Briefcases and handbags allowed. Note: calls may be made. Running Horse (outside opening hours): Overcoats, luggage and other bags.
The Library and Churchill Bar when not in use: Laptops, tablets and mobile phones on silent mode. Briefcases and handbags allowed. Note: calls may not be made. The Library and Churchill Bar when not in use: Overcoats, luggage and other bags.
