RAF Club Update: UK-wide Lockdown from 5th November 2020
Tuesday 3rd November 2020
Following the Government announcement around the forthcoming second national lockdown commencing 5th November 2020, we are pleased to advise that the Club will remain open to accommodate members and guests who are:
Conducting work-related business;
Other exemptions, including medical procedures and appointments
In order to help in the efforts to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, all other visits, including leisure stays, Club events and private events are sadly cancelled, along with Club dining in either the Dining Room or Cowdray Lounge. Essential business meetings for up to 30 people continue to be permitted https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/the-visitor-economy
All members with reservations during this period will be contacted, however if you are able to update on the status of your booking, or cancel online here www.rafclub.org.uk/account/reservations this would assist the team greatly.
Food & Beverage:
At the time of writing, the only food & beverage offering permitted is room service or 'collect and go' for in-house guests. Alcohol may be purchased for room service only. Food must be pre-ordered, with order forms available on check-in. With effect from Friday 13th November, until the end of November, there will be no food & beverage available after breakfast. Breakfast at the weekends will be a light, take away service. Please note the daily food offering may change further depending on occupancy.
The Club is conveniently located close to food outlets offering takeaway via delivery service, M&S Food and Pret a Manger minutes away on Piccadilly. Please see the Front Desk for further details on what is available in the local area.
The Business Suite
Open for those staying in-house only
The Fitness Centre
The Club was proud to remain open for Key Workers and members on the frontline during the first lockdown, and continues to offer a warm welcome, exceptional standards of service and cleanliness in a Covid-secure environment. Once again we are keen to actively support Key Workers, and friends, family and colleagues of members who may require essential accommodation.
Please contact email@example.com or call 020 7399 1010 for further information on booking a stay at the Club during this time.
For full details of what is permissible please visit www.gov.uk/coronavirus
Daily Operations & Staffing
The Club hopes to be in a position whereby we can viably remain open throughout this second period of lockdown, however this will be dependent on usage by Key Workers, members and guests. Should guest numbers reduce to unsustainable levels, this will be reviewed. Please also note the Club is operating with a small number of staff members, with the remainder on furlough or working from home. As a result, response times for emails or messages may be a little longer than usual.
For the latest information please visit: www.rafclub.org.uk/news or see social media.
In the meantime, on behalf of all at the Club, we wish all our members, their friends and family the very best of health, and offer our heartfelt thanks for your continued support. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to your Club.
